I LEFT MY HEART IN BALI

Hi and hello again, my name is Bernadette Amay Lapis and I would love to share with you my memorable and unforgettable adventure in Bali. 5th September 2013 was the most wonderful and awesome date for me this year. It was the date where my journey started. <3

Let me bring you to the first attraction that caught my eyes instantly, which is the Ulun Danu Temple. It is located at Lake Bratan, Bedugul, Bali. Why am I sooo in love with this place is because of the architectural design of the building is sooo amazing and I was really stunned by the beauty of the surroundings. I can’t stop taking pictures of the building, the people and the nature too! If you are interested to get yourself an instant photographed, there are photographers standing by who charges you 15000 Rupiah (RM5) for a picture, including the Balinese local patterned frame as well. However, since I was still unsure of the chances to be there once again in the future, so I took many pictures with my friends and made memories. :’)

With the most awesome lecturer ever!

The second attraction which grabbed my attention during the trip was the male private part. It seems very normal to the Balinese people to sell and have it hanging in their shop in different sizes and colours but for me it’s a bit unusual to see it laying down in a bucket or hanging in a string everywhere when you do your shopping especially in Kuta. It’s very interesting though. Hahahaa…

The third attraction that took my breath away was the Kintamani Volcano. It was a little chill as we had our lunch in front of this beautiful view.

These are the few other pictures that speak thousands words to me.

Going To Bali Isn't A Mistake!

Everyone's mentioning that Bali is one beautiful place and there are so many recommendations from people I know. After a 6-days-and-5-nights tour in Bali, I had figured that Bali is renowned for its incredible places besides having its people maintaining its unique culture.

The first thing that caught my eyes was the offerings along the roads and every corner of the places and buildings. I was totally wondering its significance in having those offerings outside the house or shops or buildings. Plus, I love how some offerings they placed have calming scents that I liked very much.

The second thing that interests me was the lifestyle in Kuta. I see roughly around 70% tourists and foreigners coming to Bali and rarely meet the locals (except the shop keepers and sellers). I can see how different it is from Sabah as if like I wasn’t in Indonesia, but in some parts of Europe or America. The people are so chill and cool and I've seen scenery that I don't see in Sabah..or Malaysia, generally.

I was in awe while walking down at Kuta Beachwalk. I found it was beautifully designed.. with its restaurants offering a charming view of the Kuta Beach. And again, I experienced unusual scenery at the beach, where the locals call it "sumur".. I think.

The third thing that allured me was the way Hindus do their prayers. I have not been to a Hindu temple before and never witness them doing their prayers. I found it interesting, practically because I have not seen it before.

The Balinese have a great belief that if a thing or place is considered sacred, they will pay much respect to them. As foreigners, it is part of our main awareness to alert on matters that they consider sacred. We were required to wear sarong before making an entrance to the temples.

Another thing that fascinates  me was the sunset at Uluwatu Temple. Its stunning sunset view was unforgettable as we were waiting for the Kecak Dance performance to start. Although we were gathered in an open and hot area, I still think that it was worth the wait.

One thing that I think should be changed was the overly visitors capacity. I would not enjoy a performance if it's overly crowded. Plus, having to sit with one another with little space and have the late visitors to sit on the floor for the performance are certainly the things to think about.

The last thing that interests me was bargaining while you're shopping. Although my attempts to bargain were not as good as the others, I still love to shop around the markets with considerable prices. There were many things that I found interesting and quite amusing while shopping and just walking around the markets. All things were so good to see and I had the most priceless and incredible times travelling with my friends. :)

Once upon a time in Bali. Balistair!

Alistair A.Jipiu @ etoi
Bali was not as what I have expected. I thought that Bali has nothing to offer but temples, temples and more temples. But instead Bali took my breathe away as it goes way beyond my expectation. The moment I took a step on the beach, my eyes were like crosshair searching for target after target and the words that keep on repeating in my head like a broken mp3 player was "Holy Shit, Nice *****". And i was covering my eyes with shades the whole time (oyeah). Because in Sabah, the opportunity like that seems rarely often and almost never and so i took my chances of getting slapped by taking random pictures of sexy babes. Luckily I'm lucky *wink. Aside from the beautiful babes, the scenery had also did some damage to me. I'll give a full score for the beach as it was the most awesome beach I have ever been to.
Kuta Beach
The thing that i could not stand is that my private part AKA dick is everywhere with different sizes and shapes. It caught my interest that only the men's private part are displayed and to be sell in most shops but none for the girl's. To me, justice should be imposed so that both men and women can enjoy watching and even buying the opposite sex's private part.

Kuta Beachwalk
For their art, I was very impressed as they are unique and beautiful at the same time and by art, I mean it in general. From the design of their buildings and statues, to their vehicle (horse-car), to the arts they can ink in to you (tattoos), and to their paintings, I can sum up that the people of Bali is extremely talented for their artwork.

JOURNEY TO THE LAND OF A MILLION TEMPLES

By: Samson Michael @ Ladiesman2674

At first, I was sceptical about the trip to Bali as it was located in Indonesia and knowing that our culture here in Malaysia is almost similar. I thought that it would just be the same as what we have in Malaysia. Well, I was proven totally wrong. There is a huge gap in culture between Sabah and Bali and that gave me quite a shock. Words could not even paint a picture of what I've been through there. Only thing I could say about Bali is, it is definitely one of the places that you should visit.

One main thing I like about Bali besides its majestic night life (another story...) is their strong culture. When I hear the word Bali, one thing pops out into my mind...and no its not the wooden penis (again another story...) its more to the temples I see everywhere. So its totally different from Sabah but it gives you a lesson on how important culture is to be preserved just as what the Balinese people had done. Without further delays, I have compiled some pictures showing which places interest me the most.

The first picture shows the man himself in his natural environment. Not even the fiercest tiger could stop me from having fun in Bali. The first place which interests me was the Bedegul Temple. The temple was located up in the mountains. I love this place for its quiet environment which promotes peace and serenity (until we came). The surrounding temperature was cold which was a relief to us who couldn't stand the heat.

The second picture shows the Tanah Lot Temple which is near the seaside. This place really is one of a kind because of its beautiful seaside scenery. Here, we can see a magical well which is said to be the 'Well of Youth'. I didn't really get to see it as a lot of old people gather there. (joking lol) What I did see was the Holy snake and it scared the daylight out of me when I touched it thinking it was sleeping or just dead lol....and another thing there was the souvenirs like the wooden penis caught my attention but I didn't have the guts to buy them...yet

The last picture shows us at Ulun Danu Temple. Here, we get to purify our souls by taking a dip or just dipping our heads in the holy water like no one was watching. I am the one with pink t-shirt. After dipping my head in to the cold water, I finally felt refreshed not to mention trying to get my 'scanning glasses' which was also purified into the water.

It was sad to leave my 2nd home after spending so little time there. I would never forget my time there especially with our tour leader Angie Ong and tour guide Pak Gusti. They were really friendly and fun to be with. And not to mention Pak Gusti's words of wisdom..."Papa strong, Mama happy". I hope one day I will return to this sacred and wonderful place as I have only read the first chapter of Bali and there are many more chapters to go...
Greetings from Bali Indonesia with Adam Aizat

First of all, om suastiastu to all of the readers of this blog. Bali was so great even words cannot describe the greatness of the places that i have went to. Reminiscing every second that i have as time passes away.

The great view from Uluwatu take my hearts away into the deep blue sea, relaxing myself as i can stay there just to see it's beauty.

Bebek Bengil Dirty Duck was a mouth watering dish that i ever had in Bali. You should try this one as it is top rated by the Balinese. Picture below is the night live of Legian, the most famous for best entertainment and bargain shopping.

This is the first place that’s interest me. This place called DANAU BERATAN BEDUGUL. At first my group and I arrived at this place, I felt very happy and become excited because I could see and observe the Ceremony before they go through the cremations part that I’ve just learned and read in the book. I saw on how they do the ceremony. The Balinese people were so serious and they look much immersed into their ceremony that they celebrated. Majority of the person included in the ceremony were the old man of Balinese. From my observation, the Balinese take religious part very seriously. Besides that, after my friends and I had done looking into the ceremony, we go to the BEDEGUL Temple and take pictures around the places near the BEDUGUL Temple. I was really like and interested into the BEDUGUL that is at the back of our pictures. It such a beautiful design and also very unique in terms of it shape. Other than that, there was a Balinese photographer that was being so funny. He was really friendly to us and also he’d like to makes jokes and makes us laugh. Apart from that, talked about the scenery over there it was so beautiful and very romantic. I was very happy and very grateful that finally I could come here and creates the sweetest memories with my friends.

Who knows that in Bali there is CP????? Haha! Well, this called as KUTTA area. KUTTA  Beach was very awesome… I’m feeling so excited when I’ve got there. There was many people hanging around , singing and taking  pictures. Other than that, at that place there was many variety of mushrooms or so called (Penis) HAHAHAHA..OMG … starting from the small size up until Big size.. Can u believe that ??!! But that’s the truth….When my friends and I walk around the KUTTA area, we had go and have our lunch at the KFC. But, believe or not … KFC at our country much more better than the KFC at the Bali. Still, the nightlife here was so great!

Our last day…. L It was so memorable night that I won’t be able to forget. Here at the Gimbaran Restaurant that is our last destination that we go and having our dinner for the last time in Bali with my entire course mate. Here also we sing, dance and laugh together. We had our dinner at the beach and the ambiance was so romantic with the sound of the sea as well as the night fresh wind. Besides that, here we had been joining a group of family from California and here where I met this handsome guy. HEHEHE ….All the girls was fallen with him. Yeeyyyy ….!!!!

Greetings everyone!
Just thinking about Bali hits a soft spot in  my heart. *sigh*

The name's Anthonia, and let me take you on a virtual journey to a few places in Bali.

The cliff of Uluwatu

The amazing place above is in Uluwatu.
Though this is my second visit here, the view is still as breathtaking as it was for me the first time around.
 The feeling was just surreal.

I've also managed to watch the 'Kecak' with the sweet backdrop of the multiple gradient of colours filling up the sky this time.
I did find myself drifting away during the performance.

                                            Tirta Empul Temple

I would call the visit to Tirta Empul Temple as an enlightening & a very spiritual journey.
The water from the temple is considered holy and the different outlet of where the water goes out each have a different healing purpose ranging from protection for the family to health matters.
I did managed to wash my face and head with the water and I felt rejuvenated after.

A picture of us with the experts.

The other visit that was not part of the tour was the spa treatment where Edna, Yvonne, Tracy & myself went to.
Mayura Beauty Salon was the name.

Edna & Tracy got themselves a full body massage. While Yvonne being the ticklish one, cancelled her full body massage & got herself a body scrub & masker instead. Me on the other hand got myself a full body massage & scrub.

It was Tracy, Yvonne & my first time going to a spa. Edna on the other hand, is used to getting massages at home.
We requested to be put together in a room.

The experience was quite funny from the start as we were asked to strip from our clothes and were asked to wear this quite transparent-black disposable underwear.
Thank goodness for the dim lighting!

We were laughing our heads off because well we were partitioned from each other only by curtains.

When the session started, all of us were still talking and giggling. 15 minutes into it, all us literally became quite because the massage was just relaxing.
Only Balinese traditional music filled up the atmosphere.

After sometime, we were asked to lie on our backs.
We started laughing again when our bosoms & inner thighs were massaged because we were not expecting any of that. To make things worse, I was directly under the AC. Goosebumps everywhere. GOOSEBUMPS.

We showered after the spa & were served with sweet ginger tea to relax. Our skin felt like a baby's butt.

That was my experience in Bali. The highlight of the trip for me is very obvious from what I've just shared.

It was worth all the hardships, sweat, tears, laughter, drama among many other in making this fantasy & dream come true.
